3D printed molds

Thanks for the inspiration to learn how to 3D print molds. I have now bought and assembled a 3D printer - it will be so fun to be able to develop my leather work with wet molding.

3D Printed Coin Purse

Found a nephew to print out the mould & have succesfully wet formed & sewed a 2.4mm thk pouch.
Mould worked great - trimming the sewing 'lip' to the correct size was a little guesswork but turned out fine.
Also made the Zippo pouch & very satisfied with that too.

First go at wet molding and couldn't be happier. Downloaded the pattern and 3d files and everything went together without a problem. Will be looking for more patterns with 3d files included. Give it a go. Its a lot of fun.

Leather Coin Purse 3D Printed Molds | Digital STL+PDF Pattern

This package contains the PDF pattern for the coin purse, STL files for the 3D printed molds and a detailed tutorial for how to make the coin pouch and molds.

With 3D molding technique you can obtain consistent, perfect results in leather forming with little effort.

There is a standard father mold and you will choose the according mother for the thickness of leather that you intend to use.
The STL files contain molds from 2 mm to -3.5 mm (5-9 oz) leather thickness, grouped in 4 intervals:
▶ 2.0-2.4 mm (5-6 oz)
▶ 2.3-2.7 mm (6-7 oz)
▶ 2.6-3 mm (6.5-7.5 oz)
▶ 3.0-3.5 mm (7.5-9 oz)

💡 With 3D molding technique you can obtain consistent, perfect results every time. With 3D molds you can obtain high end product finish with little or no experience  in leatherwork.

💡 If you intend to reuse the mold for many projects, I recommend printing at 100% infill. If you want to use it for a project, we recommend still going for at least 25% infill + 8 layers thickness for the walls.

⚠️ Protect the mold when using it with woodworking clamps.
