I made this pack specially as a weekender / carry on sort of thing. The build went well and it looks pretty good. I’m definitely happy with it overall. I had to shorten the shoulder straps and I suspect most people will, but that is easier than making them longer…. I also added a neoprene pad to the shoulder straps to provide a little comfort. I’m on a cross country train trip and had planned to use it…but, the attachment of the shoulder straps (top) is inadequate to a heavy load, rather it was holding but pulling at the thread enough that I wasn’t sure it would not fail. This is an easy fix, just sandwich the loop between two pieces of leather, but I couldn’t do it in the time I had…

MATERIALS
- BODY: approximately 13-16 sqft (1.2 - 1.5 sqm) 4.5 oz (1.8 mm) leather.
If use thicker leather (5.5-6 oz (2.2-2.4 mm) you don't have to line the leather on the front panel, only on the back and the bottom.
- SHOULDER STRAPS : body leather lined to achieve 8-9 oz (3.2-3.6 mm).
-CONTRAST STRAPS: 8-9 oz (3.2-3.6 mm) leather
-LINING:
the back panel is lined with 1.5 oz (0.6 mm) pigskin
the bottom is lined with 3.5 oz (1.4 mm) rigid leather
- 1 mm waxed thread
- edge dye

- 4 x 1" (25 mm) buckles
- 3 x 3/4" (20 mm) buckles
